About The Position

A Bloomingdale’s Asset Protection Visual Security Officer provides a visible, welcoming presence at the customer entrance to help deter theft and support a positive shopping experience. The officer helps maintain a safe environment for customers and colleagues by greeting and assisting customers, monitoring store traffic, observing for suspicious activity, and communicating concerns to Asset Protection/Security. Bloomingdale’s provides an Asset Protection training program to equip officers with the knowledge and tools to perform the role and grow in responsibility. The role requires professionalism in carrying out duties in the store.

Requirements

• No education or experience is required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers.
• Resourcefulness and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Ability to stand and walk around the store or department for prolonged periods.
• May occasionally need to reach above eye level, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Frequently lift or move up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome customers while on the selling floor.
• Visually monitor customer traffic entering and exiting the store.
• Deter theft through visual observation.
• Maintain a safe business environment.
• Communicate suspicious activity to Asset Protection/Security.
