About The Position

A Bloomingdale’s Asset Protection Visual Security Officer provides a visible, welcoming presence at the customer entrance to help deter theft and support a positive shopping experience. The role helps maintain a safe environment for customers and colleagues by greeting and engaging customers, monitoring store traffic, observing for suspicious activity, and communicating concerns to Asset Protection/Security. Bloomingdale’s provides an Asset Protection training program to prepare colleagues for the role and support growth in responsibility. Officers are expected to maintain a high degree of professionalism.

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers.
• Resourcefulness and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods.
• Ability to occasionally reach above eye level, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Ability to frequently lift or move up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome customers while on the selling floor.
• Visually monitor customer traffic entering and exiting the store.
• Deter theft through visual observation.
• Help maintain a safe business environment.
• Communicate suspicious activity to Asset Protection/Security.
