About The Position

As a full-time Armed Security Officer supporting a government location in Richmond, Virginia, you will safeguard clients by conducting routine armed patrols, maintaining a visible security presence, and responding professionally to developing situations. You will communicate with visitors and staff while providing customer service and following site-specific policies and procedures.

The scheduled hours are Wednesday through Friday, 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The pay rate is $18.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation, as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen, as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Meet licensing requirements that may apply under state or local laws and regulations, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors at a government facility while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in accordance with post orders and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards or policy violations.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials for authorized personnel, visitors, vendors, and deliveries according to site procedures.
• Prepare accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation, and promptly communicate observations and concerns to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
