About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Armed Security Officer for a leading aerospace and defense location in Roanoke, Virginia. The role conducts routine armed patrols, maintains a visible security presence, and supports access control and incident response while providing customer service and clear communication. The position pays $23.74 per hour and is scheduled Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors while carrying out site-specific security procedures and emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, controlled areas, access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
Monitor access control points, verify credentials and authorizations, maintain visitor and contractor logs, and report access concerns.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, coordinating with site contacts and emergency responders as directed.
Prepare accurate reports and documentation concerning patrol observations, incidents, access-related activities, and equipment concerns.
