About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Armed Security Officer for a government location in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The role serves as a welcoming and visible presence while supporting access control, visitor screening, security communications, and an orderly environment. The officer provides customer service, responds to concerns and incidents, and documents activities.

The scheduled hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The pay rate is $20.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional customer service to visitors, staff, and members of the public at a government office reception area, following site-specific security procedures and access protocols.
• Greet visitors, verify identification and appointments as required, issue visitor credentials, and direct individuals to the appropriate office or service area.
• Monitor entry activity, maintain visitor and delivery records, and communicate with authorized personnel about arrivals, access concerns, and unusual activity.
• Respond calmly to incidents, emergencies, and critical situations by following established site procedures and contacting appropriate personnel or emergency services when needed.
• Maintain a professional front-desk presence, answer routine inquiries, and report security concerns, policy violations, and maintenance issues to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.
