About The Position

As a Security Officer in a healthcare location in Petersburg, Virginia, you will serve and safeguard clients by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas. You will maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents and provide customer service and communication to patients, visitors, and staff. This is a full-time, unarmed patrol position with a weekday afternoon/evening schedule, Tuesday through Friday, 12:30 PM to 8:30 PM. The pay rate is $18.80 per hour.

Requirements

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements depend on state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

A Guard Card/License is preferred.
CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while carrying out assigned security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of healthcare facility buildings, parking areas, entrances, and the surrounding perimeter; identify and report unusual conditions or activity.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, following established site protocols.
Monitor access points and assist with visitor direction, access control procedures, and reporting unauthorized access concerns.
Accurately document daily activities, incidents, and observations, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
