About The Position

The Arena Attendant III helps provide guests with a fun and enjoyable arena experience while maintaining their safety and security on the attraction. The role combines guest service and rink operations, including skate and helmet rentals, admission transactions, ice resurfacing and maintenance, rink conversions, and support for hockey games, practices, and specialty events. This is a part-time, year-round position requiring flexible availability Monday through Sunday, including days, evenings, overnights, and weekends. The position has physical demands that include frequent standing and moving, repetitive keyboard use, reaching, occasional lifting and carrying, and periodic stooping, squatting, kneeling, and bending.

Requirements

Ability to operate a forklift.
Ability to lift and carry up to or over 50 pounds.
Customer service skills and ability to foster positive interactions with the public.
Strong conflict-resolution skills and ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
Flexible availability Monday through Sunday, including days, evenings, overnights, and weekends.

Nice To Haves

Proficiency in ice skating.
Experience driving an ice resurfacer.
Safe Ice Resurfacer Operator (S.I.R.O.) certification.
Certified Ice Technician (C.I.T.) certification.
First Aid, CPR, and emergency response training.
Experience working in an ice arena or related recreation facility.

Responsibilities

Greet guests in a professional, welcoming, and friendly manner.
Provide guests with detailed instructions on the safe use of the ice rink.
Assist with rink conversions by retrieving, installing, and tearing down special decking and carpeting used for events.
Represent the guest experience during specialty events.
Ensure skate and helmet rentals are processed correctly and collected at the end of use.
Accurately process admission transactions by cash, credit card, or automatic debit.
Handle stressful guest situations calmly and efficiently.
Use strong customer service skills while adhering to safety regulations.
Routinely operate the Zamboni ice resurfacer.
Calibrate the Zamboni Level-Ice system.
Operate the ice edger and maintain dasher board cleanliness.
Change and balance the Zamboni blade and regularly grease and maintain wear items.
Measure ice thickness and flood or build ice to maintain skating-surface quality.
Maintain and set up skate rental inventory for upcoming events.
Operate the manual Blackstone skate-sharpening machine to maintain rental skate sharpness.
Operate the scoreboard controller for hockey games and practices.
Complete assigned tasks within the guidelines and deadlines set by Rink Leadership.
Perform other responsibilities as required.
