About The Position

Pan Atlantic Foundation is looking for a motivated and dependable Area Representative in the Naperville, Illinois area to help grow and support our international student exchange program. Area Representatives are an important part of the exchange experience. They help identify welcoming American families, develop relationships with local schools, support international students, and provide a local point of contact throughout the exchange year. This is a flexible, part-time independent contractor position that allows you to work within your community while maintaining your existing schedule. If you enjoy meeting people, making connections, and being involved in your community, this could be an excellent opportunity to put those skills to work.

Responsibilities

  • Build Host Family Relationships: Introduce local families to the opportunity to host an international exchange student, answer questions and provide information about the hosting experience, interview prospective host families and assist with the qualification process, and maintain ongoing communication with participating families.
  • Develop School & Community Connections: Reach out to local high schools regarding international student exchange opportunities, establish professional relationships with school personnel, identify potential placement opportunities for exchange students, introduce the program to appropriate community organizations and groups, and encourage students to participate in school activities and community life.
  • Support Exchange Students: Help welcome students into their new community, maintain regular contact with students throughout their exchange, conduct required monthly supervision and check-ins, help students navigate everyday questions or challenges, encourage positive relationships between students, host families, schools, and the community, and communicate concerns or significant issues to Pan Atlantic Foundation staff.
  • Stay Connected With the Program: Complete required training and documentation, maintain timely communication with Pan Atlantic Foundation, participate in occasional student or community activities, and keep accurate records of required contacts and follow-up.
