About The Position

Pan Atlantic Foundation is seeking an Area Representative in Columbus, Ohio to help expand our international student exchange program and provide local support to students and host families. This role is about more than finding host families. You'll help create connections between international students, American families, schools, and the Columbus community while serving as a trusted local resource throughout the exchange experience.   • International exchange experience is not required.
  • Candidates who have existing connections with schools, families, youth organizations, civic groups, community organizations, or other local networks are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a variety of community-based responsibilities throughout the exchange year.
  • Introduce families to the benefits and responsibilities of hosting an international exchange student.
  • Generate interest in the program through personal networking, community outreach, referrals, and local events.
  • Meet with prospective host families and guide them through the application and qualification process.
  • Maintain positive relationships with approved host families.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with local high schools.
  • Communicate with school personnel regarding international student exchange opportunities.
  • Help identify schools that may be able to accept exchange students.
  • Assist with the information and coordination needed for student placements.
  • Welcome international students to their new community.
  • Serve as a local contact for students and host families throughout the exchange.
  • Maintain regular communication and complete required student check-ins.
  • Conduct required supervision visits.
  • Help students find opportunities to participate in school activities, clubs, sports, and community events.
  • Recognize and communicate concerns that may require additional program support.
  • Complete required training and program documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records and timely communication.
  • Participate in occasional local exchange-related activities.
  • Work collaboratively with Pan Atlantic Foundation staff to support successful placements and student experiences.
