About The Position

Pan Atlantic Foundation is seeking a Fort Wayne Area Representative to connect international high school students with welcoming host families, supportive schools, and the Fort Wayne community. This role involves finding host families, establishing school connections, and helping students discover Fort Wayne and adjust to American culture. The Area Representative will serve as a local resource, providing support to students and host families throughout the exchange year, with training and support provided by Pan Atlantic Foundation.

Responsibilities

  • Promote international exchange opportunities in the community
  • Connect with families who are interested in hosting
  • Meet prospective host families
  • Explain program expectations and responsibilities
  • Complete required host family interviews and approval steps
  • Prepare families for their student's arrival
  • Maintain communication throughout the school year
  • Identify local schools where international students can become part of the student body
  • Work with school counselors, administrators, teachers, staff, and athletic/activity departments
  • Develop relationships with community partners
  • Help students discover Fort Wayne experiences such as local attractions, events, and everyday life
  • Check in regularly with students and host families
  • Complete required supervision visits
  • Help students adjust to American culture and daily life
  • Encourage involvement in sports, clubs, activities, and community events
  • Help students work through challenges
  • Support positive relationships between students and host families
  • Communicate significant concerns to the PAF team
