About The Position

Pan Atlantic Foundation is seeking a motivated, people-oriented Area Representative in the Indianapolis area to recruit and support host families, develop relationships with local high schools, and help international exchange students become connected to their communities. The territory will focus on Indianapolis and surrounding Central Indiana communities, including Plainfield, Avon, Terre Haute, Columbus, and nearby towns and school districts. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys people, community involvement, flexible work, and making a meaningful difference in the life of a young person.

Requirements

  • Successfully complete required background screening.
  • Complete Pan Atlantic Foundation training.
  • Become certified with the U.S. Department of State as required for the applicable exchange program role.
  • Be comfortable working independently.
  • Have reliable communication and follow-through.
  • Be able to meet with students, families, and school contacts as needed.
  • Have reliable transportation for local outreach and student support.

  • International exchange experience is not required.

Responsibilities

  • Promote international exchange opportunities through social media and community connections.
  • Talk with families who are interested in hosting.
  • Meet with prospective host families in their homes or community.
  • Explain program expectations and responsibilities.
  • Complete required host family interviews and approval steps.
  • Stay connected with families after they are approved.
  • Help families feel prepared for their student's arrival.
  • Maintain supportive relationships throughout the exchange.
  • Establish relationships with school administrators, guidance counselors, international student coordinators, coaches, teachers, activity directors, and other school personnel.
  • Introduce schools to the exchange program, identify schools willing to consider students, assist with enrollment, and develop relationships that can lead to future placements.
  • Help students discover the unique experiences available throughout Central Indiana.
  • Welcome students into their new community.
  • Maintain regular contact with students and host families.
  • Complete required supervision visits and check-ins.
  • Encourage students to participate in school activities, clubs, sports, and community events.
  • Help students adjust to their new environment.
  • Listen when questions or concerns arise.
  • Help families navigate everyday challenges.
  • Communicate significant concerns to Pan Atlantic Foundation staff.
  • Help create a safe, positive, and memorable exchange experience.
