About The Position

The Area Leader (Manager) Trainee oversees and develops toward responsibility for 12–14 retail store locations. Participants complete an in-depth training program that typically lasts 12 months. Upon appointment to take over a district, an Area Leader receives a company vehicle for business use. The role can lead to key operations responsibilities and offers potential career paths in different directions, including opportunities within 2–5 years.

Requirements

• A four-year degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, or at least five years of experience managing district or regional operations for retail/commercial businesses, or a large single commercial store with multiple managers and 100 or more employees.
• A valid driver's license from the state of residence and maintenance of automotive liability insurance during employment.
• Ability to multitask and be self-motivated.
• Ability to perform repeated bending, standing, and reaching, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Previous multi-unit management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Staff, train, and supervise Store Leaders.
• Implement merchandising programs and control cash and inventory.
• Motivate and build teams while promoting excellent customer service.
• Manage profit and loss, including budget planning, maximizing sales, and controlling expenses.
• Set performance goals and objectives, and monitor results with upper management.
