About The Position

The Area Leader Trainee is a retail sales leadership role preparing participants to oversee a district of 12–14 store locations. The role includes an in-depth training program that typically lasts 12 months and can lead to appointment as an Area Leader, a key operations role. After appointment, the Area Leader receives a company vehicle for business use. The position offers potential career growth, with Area Leaders able to pursue different career paths within 2–5 years.

Requirements

• A four-year degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, or at least five years of experience managing district or regional operations for retail/commercial businesses, or a large single commercial store with multiple managers and 100 or more employees.
• Valid driver’s license from the state of residence.
• Maintain automotive liability insurance during employment.
• Ability to multitask and work independently with self-motivation.
• Ability to perform repeated bending, standing, and reaching, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Previous multi-unit management experience.

Responsibilities

• Staff, train, and supervise Store Leaders.
• Implement merchandising programs and control cash and inventory.
• Motivate and build teams while promoting excellent customer service.
• Manage profit and loss, including planning budgets, maximizing sales, and controlling expenses.
• Set performance goals and objectives and monitor results with upper management.
• Oversee 12–14 store locations after progressing into the Area Leader role.
