About The Position

General Parts Group is hiring an Apprentice Field Service Technician to repair and maintain commercial kitchen equipment at schools, healthcare facilities, and restaurants throughout the technician’s area. The role is intended for mechanically inclined individuals with backgrounds in electrical work, HVAC/R, or similar trades. The company provides hands-on training while the apprentice shadows a Lead Technician, with the goal of helping launch a career in the field. The technician is dispatched from home in a company vehicle and receives ongoing training and career advancement opportunities.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets the company’s safety standards.
• Completion of a criminal background check and drug screen.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Nice To Haves

• Two or more years of related experience, education, or military training preferred.
• EPA certification for refrigeration technicians.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial cooking, refrigeration, and HVAC equipment.
• Provide service solutions for gas, electric, and steam systems.
• Order and install replacement parts.
• Participate in after-hours and weekend on-call rotations.
