About The Position

Air Equipment Company is seeking an Application Engineer to support HVAC sales and project activity. The role works with the Sales Team, Application Engineering Team, Operations Team, and Project Managers to help achieve revenue and profit goals, develop customer relationships, and support opportunity and order processes. The engineer is expected to become an expert in the equipment and systems represented by the company and how to design projects for consulting engineering customers.

Travel within the territory is expected, with 50%–75% of time spent outside the office. The position includes meeting individual objectives and metrics, maintaining customer information and activity, assisting with project tracking and customer support, and participating in regular conversations with the Sales Team Leader.

Requirements

• Technical or engineering bachelor’s degree, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of HVAC sales experience calling on consulting engineers.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE recommendations, the HVAC industry, and/or related areas.
• Strong mathematics and physics skills.

Nice To Haves

• Education and experience in the construction and engineering industry.
• Specific experience working with construction drawings, specifications, construction schedules, and processes.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed individual objectives set by the Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing.
• Meet or exceed individual metrics set by the Sales Team Leader.
• Work with the Sales Team to meet or exceed revenue and profit goals established by the EVP of Sales.
• Become an expert on the equipment and systems the company represents and on designing projects for consulting engineering customers.
• Work with the entire sales team to help achieve business objectives.
• Build customer relationships through excellent customer service and retention.
• Maintain customer information and activity in the designated system.
• Assist the Operations Team and Project Manager with project tracking and customer support.
• Provide the Application Engineering Team with required information for opportunity development.
• Provide the Application Engineering Team with required information for order generation and entry, when applicable.
• Assist the Project Manager as needed with reviewing submittals and order acknowledgements.
• Participate in quarterly conversations with the Sales Team Leader to review core values, GWC, and other topics.
• Travel within the territory; 50%–75% of time is spent outside the office.
• Perform other roles and responsibilities as assigned.
