Apartment Maintenance Supervisor
About The Position
CVG Properties is hiring a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to oversee daily maintenance operations at a 1985-built, 164-unit apartment community near I-5 and Palm Ave in South San Diego. The supervisor will lead the maintenance team, set standards for service and unit turns, and partner with the Community Manager to plan repairs and capital work. The role is based at the community and may provide support to nearby CVG properties as needed. It includes participation in an on-call rotation, including evenings and weekends. CVG Properties owns the communities it operates and has done so since 1993 across Arizona, California, Utah, and Texas. The company describes a direct ownership structure in which decisions are made quickly and employee ideas reach the property owners.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of multifamily maintenance experience, including lead or supervisory experience.
- Strong all-trades skills, including electrical and plumbing.
- Working knowledge of building codes, pool logs, and safety requirements.
- Reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, clean driving record, and auto insurance.
- Availability for the on-call rotation, including evenings and weekends.
Nice To Haves
- HVAC skills.
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification.
- Experience with Yardi.
- Experience with older properties.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
Responsibilities
- Lead, schedule, and oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the community.
- Ensure work orders are completed quickly and to a high standard.
- Complete unit turns and ensure make-ready units are delivered on time and meet CVG standards.
- Diagnose and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliances, carpentry, and flooring issues.
- Oversee preventive maintenance, including pools, lighting, irrigation, and exteriors.
- Walk the property daily, conduct move-in and move-out inspections, and identify safety issues.
- Manage vendors, inventory, and the maintenance budget in partnership with the Community Manager.
- Run the on-call rotation and lead responses to emergencies.
- Support nearby CVG properties when needed.
