About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor for a renovated historic building in a downtown Detroit community. The team is looking for a proven leader who is customer-service focused, organized, developmental, self-driven, passionate, and transparent. The role includes responding to residential service requests, maintaining the community and apartment homes, coordinating contractors, and reporting unresolved maintenance issues to management. On-call hours are required.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in a supervisor position in the apartment industry.
Possess the tools needed to perform routine maintenance tasks and have your own general tools.
Be dedicated to exceeding customer needs and able to build and maintain relationships.
Demonstrate thoroughness, accuracy, and organization when accomplishing tasks.
EPA Certification required.
Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
Ability to handle the physical workload.
Be deadline- and detail-oriented.
Ability to use electronic communication professionally and efficiently.
Be a proven leader and team player.
Valid driver's license and dependable transportation required.
Ability to work on-call hours.

Responsibilities

Prioritize and complete work and repair orders in a timely fashion.
Manage capital projects.
Monitor expenditures.
Keep the community clean and well maintained.
Troubleshoot and respond to a wide variety of residential service requests in a timely and professional manner.
Prepare apartment homes for rent.
Perform routine preventive maintenance.
Maintain material and supply inventory.
Oversee work performed by outside contractors.
Report unresolved maintenance issues or concerns to management.
