About The Position

The Angel Tree Worker sets up the Angel Tree booth and supports the Angel Tree registration process by interviewing clients, handling personal information, entering applicants into the computer software system, and performing related duties. The position works in the Christmas center and warehouse, handling donations that may include furniture, appliances, and clothing. It also helps maintain warehouse safety and security, clean up and set up the warehouse, and may assist with pickups from malls or corporations when necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and two years of experience dealing with the public in a customer-service-type position, or equivalent training or experience providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Valid state driver's license.
• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Physical strength adequate to carry and unload materials from trucks and within the warehouse.
• Ability to work independently and stay organized.
• Willingness to work shifts that may vary from day to night and be on call on weekends.
• Proactive demeanor and willingness to work with individuals of various backgrounds and ages.

Responsibilities

• Set up the Angel Tree booth.
• Interview clients, handle personal information, enter applicants into the computer software system, and perform duties related to Angel Tree registration.
• Unload trucks at the Christmas warehouse and distribute donations to the proper locations as instructed.
• Assist with Angel Tree pickups from drop-off locations.
• Maintain good relationships with donors and volunteers to promote a favorable image of The Salvation Army.
• Assist in all areas of Christmas warehouse operations as needed.
• Lift, carry, load, and unload donations, which may include furniture, appliances, and clothing.
• Help promote warehouse safety and security and assist with warehouse cleanup, layout, and setup.
• Assist with pickups from malls or corporations when necessary.
