About The Position
The Angel Tree Worker works in The Salvation Army’s Christmas Center and warehouse. The role involves handling and moving donated items, including potentially furniture, appliances, and clothing; maintaining the safety and security of the warehouse; and helping clean, organize, and set up the warehouse. The worker may assist with pickups from malls, corporations, or Angel Tree drop-off locations as needed. The position also includes maintaining positive relationships with donors and supporting warehouse operations as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to follow instructions, acquired through partial high school education.
- Friendly personality and proactive demeanor.
- Physical strength to carry and unload materials from trucks and in the warehouse.
- Ability to work independently and stay organized.
- Willingness to work varying shifts from day to night and be on call on weekends.
- Willingness to work with individuals of various backgrounds and ages.
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with coworkers.
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Ability to perform strenuous heavy work involving lifting and carrying heavy objects, and continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.

Responsibilities
- Lift, carry, and stack donations in the warehouse.
- Distribute donations to their proper locations as instructed.
- Unload trucks at the Christmas warehouse.
- Assist with Angel Tree pickups from drop-off locations and possible pickups from malls or corporations.
- Clean and service assigned areas in the Christmas Center and help maintain the warehouse and loading dock.
- Pick up trash, empty garbage containers, and take trash to the designated disposal area.
- Promote warehouse safety and security.
- Maintain good relationships with donors and promote a favorable image of The Salvation Army.
- Work in different areas of Christmas warehouse operations as needed.
- Complete special projects and other related duties as required.
