Angel Tree Worker
About The Position
The Angel Tree Worker assists people interested in adopting an Angel by providing the Angel’s ID number and recording the adopting donor’s name, address, and telephone number. The worker informs donors of the deadline for returning unwrapped gifts and answers questions about Angel Tree and other Salvation Army programs, contacting a supervisor or office when needed to ensure accurate information. The role also supports Angel Tree registration, prepares tags and gift bags, and helps ensure packages are properly distributed on distribution day. The position requires polite and courteous interactions at all times. The work requires manual dexterity and frequent changes between sitting, walking, and standing. The worker must be able to lift objects weighing 25–50 pounds. Work may involve driving a vehicle and associated discomfort from heavy traffic or changing weather.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Manual dexterity.
- Ability to frequently change between sitting, walking, and standing.
- Ability to lift objects weighing 25–50 pounds.
- Ability to drive a vehicle when required, including in heavy traffic or changing weather.
Responsibilities
- Assist people interested in adopting Angels and prepare tags to be distributed.
- Provide Angel ID information and record adopting donors’ names, addresses, and telephone numbers.
- Inform adopting donors of the deadline for returning unwrapped gift items.
- Answer questions about Angel Tree and other Salvation Army programs, consulting a supervisor or office when necessary to obtain accurate information.
- Assist with Angel Tree registration.
- Prepare gift bags for distribution.
- Assist on distribution day and ensure packages are properly distributed.
- Maintain a polite and courteous manner.
