Angel Tree Lead Warehouse Worker
About The Position
The Angel Tree Lead Warehouse Worker works in the Christmas center and supports its warehouse operations. The role involves handling and organizing donations, including lifting, carrying, loading, unloading, and distributing items such as furniture, appliances, and clothing. The worker promotes warehouse safety and security, helps clean and set up the facility, and may assist with pickups from malls, corporations, and Angel Tree drop-off locations. The position also supports the Angel Tree Coordinator, other Corps locations, and volunteers, while maintaining positive relationships with donors.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Physical strength adequate to carry and unload materials from trucks and in the warehouse.
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving lifting and carrying heavy objects.
- Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.
- Ability to work independently.
- Willingness to work shifts that vary from day to night and be on call on weekends.
- Organized.
- Proactive demeanor and willingness to work with individuals of various backgrounds and ages.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Angel Tree Coordinator with organization and daily tasks.
- Assist other Corps locations with their registration process.
- Mentor and assist volunteers on the Christmas Center warehouse floor.
- Lift and stack donations in the warehouse.
- Distribute donations to their proper place as instructed in the warehouse.
- Clean and service assigned areas in the Christmas Center.
- Pick up trash, empty garbage containers, and remove trash to the disposal area.
- Maintain good relationships with donors to promote a favorable image of The Salvation Army.
- Unload trucks at the Christmas warehouse.
- Assist with Angel Tree pickups from drop-off locations.
- Assist with possible pickups from malls or corporations, if necessary.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described.
