About The Position

The Angel Tree Worker sets up the Angel Tree booth and trains volunteers. The worker interviews clients, handles personal information, enters applicants into a computer software system, and performs duties required during Angel Tree registration. The role also supports booth operations, volunteers, shoppers, and the collection of gifts for shipment to the warehouse. This description is not all-inclusive; the incumbent may be asked to perform other job-related responsibilities and tasks.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED and two years of experience dealing with the public in a customer-service-type position, or equivalent training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Strong computer skills.
Comfort using smartphones or other phone devices and wireless printers.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to greet volunteers and shoppers.
Pleasant attitude.
Ability to meet deadlines and follow up on assignments.
Ability to explain Angel Tree procedures to volunteers and shoppers.
Knowledge of The Salvation Army mission and philosophy.
Ability to read and communicate in English.
Valid state driver's license.

Nice To Haves

Ability to speak Spanish.

Responsibilities

Enter applicant information into the computer software system and complete duties required for Angel Tree registration.
Train volunteers on Angel Tree procedures.
Keep Angel tags supplied at the booth.
Set up and take down the Angel Tree booth.
Open the mall Angel Tree booth each morning and/or close it at night.
Be present at the booth when shifts change to greet volunteers.
Work at the booth if volunteers do not show up for their shifts.
Collect gifts from shoppers and place them in the toy box for shipment to the warehouse.
Interview clients and handle personal information.
