Angel Tree Lead Warehouse Worker (9025)
About The Position
The Angel Tree Lead Warehouse Worker works in the Christmas center and assists the Angel Tree Coordinator with organization and daily tasks. The role involves handling and distributing donations, supporting volunteers, maintaining warehouse safety and cleanliness, and helping with Angel Tree pickups. The position may also assist other Corps locations with registration and help with pickups from malls or corporations as needed. This seasonal, full-time position is based at the GA-MAAC Metro Atlanta Area Command in Norcross, Georgia. It requires strenuous physical work, including lifting and carrying heavy objects, and work in a warehouse environment exposed to fluctuating temperatures, noise, dust, and dirt. Shifts may vary from day to night, and weekend on-call availability is required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Physical strength adequate to carry and unload materials from trucks and in the warehouse.
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Ability to perform strenuous heavy work involving lifting and carrying heavy objects.
- Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, and standing, and some climbing.
- Ability to work independently.
- Willingness to work shifts that vary from day to night and be on call on weekends.
- Organized.
- Proactive demeanor and willingness to work with individuals of various backgrounds and ages.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Angel Tree Coordinator with organization and daily tasks.
- Assist other Corps locations with their registration process.
- Mentor and assist volunteers on the Christmas Center Warehouse floor.
- Lift and stack donations in the warehouse.
- Distribute donations to their proper place as instructed.
- Clean and service assigned areas in the Christmas Center.
- Pick up trash, empty garbage containers, and take trash to the disposal area.
- Maintain good relationships with donors to promote a favorable image of The Salvation Army.
- Unload trucks at the Christmas warehouse.
- Assist with Angel Tree pickups from drop-off locations.
- Assist with possible pickups from malls or corporations, if necessary.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described.
