Angel Tree Lead Warehouse Worker (9025)
About The Position
This position works in the Christmas Center warehouse and is responsible for handling and organizing donations, supporting warehouse safety and security, and helping prepare and maintain the warehouse. The role includes lifting, carrying, loading, and unloading donations such as furniture, appliances, and clothing, as well as assisting with Angel Tree pickups and, when necessary, pickups from malls or corporations. The Lead Warehouse Worker assists the Angel Tree Coordinator with organization and daily tasks, supports registration processes at other Corps locations, and mentors and assists volunteers on the Christmas Center warehouse floor. The role also involves maintaining donor relationships that promote a favorable image of The Salvation Army and performing other related duties incidental to the work described.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Physical strength adequate to carry and unload materials from a truck and in the warehouse.
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving lifting and carrying heavy objects.
- Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, and standing, and some climbing.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be willing to work shifts that vary from day to night and be on call on weekends.
- Must be organized.
- Proactive demeanor and willingness to work with individuals of various backgrounds and ages.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Angel Tree Coordinator with organization and daily tasks.
- Assist other Corps locations with their registration process.
- Mentor and assist volunteers on the Christmas Center warehouse floor.
- Lift and stack donations in the warehouse.
- Distribute donations to their proper place as instructed in the warehouse.
- Clean and service assigned areas in the Christmas Center.
- Pick up trash, empty garbage containers, and remove trash to the disposal area.
- Maintain good relationships with donors to promote a favorable image of The Salvation Army.
- Unload trucks at the Christmas warehouse.
- Assist with Angel Tree pickups from drop-off locations.
- Assist with possible pickups from malls or corporations, if necessary.
- Promote warehouse safety and security.
- Assist with warehouse cleanup, layout, and setup.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described.
