About The Position
Northwestern Middle School is seeking a dedicated AmeriCorps Member to join their team for the 26-27 term. This full-time position involves planning and implementing service-learning projects for students, participating in virtual training and national service days, creating a service portfolio, and serving as a community ambassador. The role is focused on areas such as School Readiness & Success, Mentoring Youth, Academic Support, Community Strengthening, and STEM/STEAM/STREAM activities. AmeriCorps is a national service program aimed at meeting needs in education, public safety, environment, and human services, engaging individuals in improving their communities.
Requirements
- Government Issued Photo ID
- Signed Social Security Card
- US Birth Certificate or another form of Proof of Citizenship
- Must participate in a three-day pre-service training (virtual or in-person)
- Must successfully complete the program to earn the Education Award

Responsibilities
- Plan and implement service-learning projects for students at host sites or in communities
- Attend monthly member meetings
- Complete virtual training to amplify service abilities
- Participate in National Service Days and planned events
- Create a service portfolio and track and report service outcomes
- Serve as an ambassador in your neighborhood and community
- Participate in a virtual pre-service training prior to serving at assigned host site
- Participate in AmeriCorps activities in addition to host site placement responsibilities
Benefits
- Monthly Pretax Living Allowance: $2,600.00 gross per month (37 weeks)
- Term Education Award: $5,176.50 (37 weeks)
