About The Position
Northwestern High School is seeking an AmeriCorps Member for the 26-27 term. This full-time position involves planning and implementing service-learning projects for students, attending monthly meetings, completing virtual training, and participating in National Service Days and planned events. The member will also create a service portfolio, track service outcomes, and serve as a community ambassador. AmeriCorps is a national service program focused on education, public safety, environment, and human services, aiming to improve communities and provide valuable skills to members.
Requirements
- Government Issued Photo ID
- Signed Social Security Card
- US Birth Certificate or another form of Proof of Citizenship
- Must participate in a three-day pre-service training (virtual or in-person)

Responsibilities
- Plan and implement service-learning projects for students at host sites or in communities
- Attend monthly member meetings
- Complete virtual training to amplify service abilities
- Participate in National Service Days and planned events
- Create a service portfolio and track and report service outcomes
- Serve as an ambassador in your neighborhood and community
- Participate in a virtual pre-service training prior to serving at assigned host site
- Participate in AmeriCorps activities in addition to host site placement responsibilities
Benefits
- $2,600.00 gross per month living allowance for a 1,700-hour term (48 weeks)
- $7,395.00 education award for a 1,700-hour term (37 weeks)
