About The Position
Northwestern Middle School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic AmeriCorps Member to join their team for the 26-27 term. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to integrate your ideas into the school's daily operations and contribute to student success. The ideal candidate will be caring, welcoming, and vibrant, remaining steadfast in their commitment to students even when facing obstacles. As an AmeriCorps member, you will participate in various service-learning projects, training, and community engagement activities, in addition to your service at the host site.
Requirements
- Government Issued Photo ID
- Signed Social Security Card
- US Birth Certificate or another form of Proof of Citizenship
- Must be able to participate in a three-day pre-service training (virtual or in-person)
- Must agree to participate in AmeriCorps activities in addition to host site placement responsibilities.

Responsibilities
- Plan and implement service-learning projects for students at host sites or in communities
- Attend monthly member meetings
- Complete virtual training to amplify service abilities
- Participate in National Service Days and planned events
- Create a service portfolio and track and report service outcomes
- Serve as an ambassador in your neighborhood and community
- Participate in a virtual pre-service training prior to serving at assigned host site
- Participate in AmeriCorps activities in addition to host site placement responsibilities
- Engage in areas such as School Readiness & Success, Mentoring Youth through Service, Academic support service, Community Strengthening through Outreach Events and Special Projects, and STEM/STEAM/STREAM activities and service learning.
