About The Position
Northwestern High School is seeking an AmeriCorps Member for the 26-27 term. This full-time position involves integrating fresh ideas into the school's daily operations, focusing on student success. The ideal candidate will be caring, welcoming, and vibrant, remaining steadfast to student success even when facing obstacles. The role includes planning and implementing service-learning projects, attending monthly meetings, completing virtual training, participating in National Service Days, creating a service portfolio, and serving as a community ambassador. A virtual pre-service training is required before starting at the assigned host site.
Requirements
- Government Issued Photo ID
- Signed Social Security Card
- US Birth Certificate or another form of Proof of Citizenship
- Must participate in a three-day pre-service training (virtual or in-person)
- Must agree to participate in AmeriCorps activities in addition to host site placement responsibilities

Responsibilities
- Plan and implement service-learning projects for students at host sites or in communities
- Attend monthly member meetings
- Complete virtual training to amplify service abilities
- Participate in National Service Days and planned events
- Create a service portfolio and track and report service outcomes
- Serve as an ambassador in your neighborhood and community
- Participate in a virtual pre-service training prior to serving at assigned host site
