About The Position
Keystone SMILES is seeking two AmeriCorps Full Time Members for the 2026-2027 program year. Members will serve at the Keystone SMILES Preschool/Summer Meal and STEM Program in Knox, PA. In addition to host site responsibilities, members will plan and implement service-learning projects, attend monthly meetings, complete virtual training, participate in National Service Days and events, create a service portfolio, and serve as community ambassadors. AmeriCorps is a national service program that focuses on areas such as School Readiness & Success, Mentoring Youth, Academic Support, Community Strengthening, and STEM/STEAM/STREAM activities. Members are not classified as employees and do not receive employee benefits, but they do receive a living allowance and an education award upon completion of their term.
Requirements
- Government Issued Photo ID
- Signed Social Security Card
- US Birth Certificate or another form of Proof of Citizenship
- Complete a term of service (1700 or 1300 hours)
- Complete virtual training
- Complete a service portfolio
- Track and report service outcomes
- Meet eligibility requirements for Health Care Coverage/Dental/Vision
- Meet eligibility requirements for Child Care

Responsibilities
- Plan and implement service-learning projects for students at host sites or in communities
- Attend monthly member meetings
- Complete virtual training to amplify service abilities
- Participate in National Service Days and planned events
- Create a service portfolio and track and report service outcomes
- Serve as an ambassador in your neighborhood and community
- Participate in a virtual pre-service training prior to serving at assigned host site
- Participate in AmeriCorps activities in addition to host site placement responsibilities
