About The Position

Keystone SMILES is seeking two AmeriCorps Full-Time Members for the 2026-2027 program year. This program offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience, develop a service portfolio, and contribute to community strengthening initiatives. Members will serve at the Keystone SMILES Preschool/Summer Meal and STEM Program in Knox, PA, and will participate in various AmeriCorps activities alongside their host site responsibilities. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about service, education, and community development.

Requirements

• Government Issued Photo ID
• Signed Social Security Card
• US Birth Certificate or another form of Proof of Citizenship
• Must be a US Citizen, US National, or Legal Permanent Resident Alien
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to commit to the full term of service (either 1700 or 1300 hours)
• Must pass a criminal background check

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement service-learning projects for students at host sites or in communities
• Attend monthly member meetings
• Complete virtual training to amplify service abilities
• Participate in National Service Days and planned events
• Create a service portfolio and track and report service outcomes
• Serve as an ambassador in your neighborhood and community
• Participate in a virtual pre-service training prior to serving at assigned host site
• Participate in AmeriCorps activities in addition to host site placement responsibilities
