About The Position

The AM Server provides attentive, polished food and beverage service to guests, helping ensure each dining experience is flawless. The role involves answering questions about menu items, specials, and beverages; maintaining up-to-date knowledge of menu selections and kitchen shortages; coordinating with kitchen staff; and monitoring guests’ dining experience by delivering items, responding to needs, offering desserts and drinks, clearing courses, replenishing utensils, and refilling glasses. The position is part-time at the Sheraton DFW Airport in Irving, Texas.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous serving experience.
• Ability to think on your feet and work calmly under pressure.
• Ability to contribute to a collaborative and diverse team dynamic.
• Passion for customer service.
• Food Handler’s permit and Liquor Permit.
• Ability to accommodate varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to spend substantial time on one’s feet and to walk, bend, twist, and climb stairs.
• Ability to carry or lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.

Nice To Haves

• Previous serving experience in an upscale dining environment.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with guests and answer questions about menu items, specials, and beverages.
• Maintain knowledge of current menu choices, specialties, menu deviations, and food shortages in the kitchen.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure orders are prepared accurately and in a timely manner.
• Monitor guests’ dining experience by delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering desserts and drinks, removing courses, replenishing utensils, and refilling glasses.
