About The Position

Prepare food of consistent quality and assist in kitchen functions at the Hilton Airport Atlanta. The role follows recipe cards and production and portion standards, prepares food for service, supports buffet setup, maintains food storage and temperatures, and helps control food costs and waste. The cook must operate, maintain, and clean kitchen equipment and be available to work regularly.

Requirements

Finger and hand dexterity to operate food machinery, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to grasp, lift, carry, or otherwise move goods weighing up to 100 pounds on a continuous schedule, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to adapt communication style to different audiences, including supervisors, coworkers, and the public.

Responsibilities

Prepare food of consistent quality according to recipe cards and production and portion standards, per server checks.
Start food items prepared ahead of time while avoiding over-preparation of estimated needs.
Date food containers and rotate food according to HEI Hotels and Resorts standards; keep perishables at proper temperatures.
Check pars for shift use, determine preparation needs, freezer pulls, and line setup, note out-of-stock items or possible shortages, and help keep the buffet stocked.
Return unused food items to designated storage areas for the next shift, covering and dating perishables.
Assist with plans and actions to address food-cost problems and control food waste, loss, and usage according to HEI Hotels and Resorts standards.
Operate, maintain, and properly clean kitchen equipment, including deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven, steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron, and flat-top grill.
Comply with attendance rules and be available to work regularly.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
