About The Position
The Alterations Associate is part of the tailoring team and provides customer service and tailoring expertise. The role involves fitting customers, making alterations decisions, and performing alterations on a wide range of luxury garments while supporting an exceptional customer experience. The associate follows company, alteration workroom, and tailor procedures; maintains a clean and safe work environment; and contributes to store, department, and company initiatives. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of fitting and tailoring experience with high-end merchandise.
- Ability to fit and perform alterations on a wide range of garments.
- Ability to use standard sewing, pressing, and spotting equipment.
- Ability to use double-blind, buttonhole, cover-stitch, and leather specialty machines.
- Knowledge of the alterations industry, including fabrication and styling of luxury merchandise.
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Nice To Haves
- Technical background in specialty skills such as leather, knits, double face, beading, fine tailoring, or buttonholes.
