This role serves as a Maintenance Controller with supervisory authority to direct work centers and personnel to accomplish specific maintenance actions required for mission accomplishment. The Maintenance Control Representative will possess an in-depth working knowledge of CNAFINST 4790.2 Series and applicable technical publications for their specific aircraft type. They will also be knowledgeable of Special Projects/Flight Clearances/Interim Flight Clearances, and the Aircraft Modification Instruction process. Key responsibilities include releasing aircraft safe for flight, monitoring SCIR documentation, reviewing weight and balance forms, directing maintenance to meet operational needs, briefing aircrew for Functional Check Flights (FCF), reviewing FCF performance documentation, requesting cannibalization authorization, coordinating depot-level repairs, assigning workload priorities, managing maintenance and material status, managing aircraft configuration, maintaining service records and logbooks, liaising with Quality Assurance and Projects Coordinator, understanding Navy Working Capital Fund, notifying Government Oversight QARs of critical inspections, monitoring high-time components, establishing supply priorities, and coordinating maintenance tasks to meet flight and ground test schedules.
