This role directs, coordinates, and monitors all maintenance and material actions to ensure aircraft, materials, equipment, or components are kept in a serviceable condition efficiently. The Maintenance Controller will have supervisory authority over work centers and personnel to accomplish specific maintenance actions required for the mission. This position requires an in-depth understanding of CNAFINST 4790.2 (series) and applicable technical publications for T/M/S aircraft, as well as knowledge of Special Projects / Flight Clearances / Interim Flight Clearances and the Aircraft Modification Instruction (VX-30/31 INST 13050/1 Series) process. The role involves releasing aircraft safe for flight, monitoring SCIR documentation, reviewing weight and balance forms, directing maintenance actions to meet operational needs, briefing aircrew, reviewing FCF performance, requesting cannibalization, coordinating depot-level actions, assigning workload priorities, managing maintenance and material status, managing aircraft configuration, maintaining service records and logbooks, liaising with Quality Assurance and Projects Coordinator, understanding Navy Working Capital Fund, notifying government oversight QARs of critical inspections, monitoring high-time components, establishing supply priorities, and coordinating tasking to meet flight and ground test schedules.
