About The Position

This position requires a technically qualified, experienced, and knowledgeable individual capable of exercising an appropriate level of responsibility in the F18 Avionics area. The technician will provide technical support to electronic project engineers, utilize excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet daily flight schedules, and provide technical guidance and expertise to lower-level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts. The role involves directing Level I work center personnel and occasionally leading teams through complex aircraft relevant tasks.

Requirements

  • Released from military service with an Honorable Discharge.
  • Candidate experience must be clearly defined on resumes by listing specific dates (month & year) and locations of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of five years US Navy/USMC/USCG O-Level CNAFINST 4790.2 (series) aircraft maintenance support experience.
  • Minimum five years Organizational Level Avionics/Electrical experience on F18 aircraft (24 of the 36 months within last 3 years preferred).
  • Knowledgeable in automatic flight control, stabilization systems, weapons integration systems and fuel quantity systems.
  • May be required to become Plane Captain certified in accordance with approved certification process for each T/M/S applicable to their background.
  • Experience as T/M/S CDI, CDQAR, Work Center Supervisor is required.
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have a current U.S. Secret clearance and be able to maintain it.
  • Must be available to work any shift.
  • Travel may be required.

Nice To Haves

  • Specialized training courses are desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Direct Level I work center personnel to accomplish specific maintenance actions as required to accomplish maintenance tasking in accordance with Department of Labor Skill Code definitions.
  • Provide guidance and technical expertise to lower-level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts.
  • Receive technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician.
  • Occasionally lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks.
  • Utilize excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet daily flight schedule.
  • Provide technical support to electronic project engineers.
