AI Engineer (Portless)
About The Position
Portless is seeking an AI Engineer to design, build, and deploy intelligent systems that automate and optimize supply-chain operations at scale. The role focuses on developing AI/ML models for logistics and e-commerce, working with large language models, computer vision, and predictive analytics, and delivering AI-powered features in collaboration with product and engineering teams. The engineer will own the full machine-learning lifecycle, from data and training through evaluation and deployment, and will monitor and improve model performance in production. This is a full-time, remote role for candidates in North America, with approximately six hours of overlap with Eastern Time. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Candidates in Canada or Mexico are considered only if they already have U.S. work authorization. The stated salary range is $180,000–$230,000.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of AI/ML engineering experience.
- Strong Python skills and experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
- Experience deploying models to production.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Candidates in Canada or Mexico must already hold U.S. work authorization.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in logistics, e-commerce, or supply chain.
- LLM fine-tuning and RAG experience.
