About The Position

This part-time substitute position is part of a pathway in partnership with a school district. Substitute Instructional Providers may be assigned to different school sites based on daily staffing needs, with no guaranteed daily shift or location. The employee must be ready to travel between sites and respond promptly to available shifts. The role is initially placed at a school site through the California Schools Talent Collaborative (CSTC) for three months. During that period, the employee is expected to apply for an equivalent district position and complete the district’s formal hiring process. After successfully completing that process and serving at least three months with CSTC, the employee may be eligible to transition to direct district employment. Under the direction of the Expanded Learning Site Supervisor, the Instructional Provider facilitates and implements program activities, provides assigned instruction to TK–12 students, and supervises students. The position involves working in indoor and outdoor classroom and playground environments with moderate, typical school noise. Applicants need a high school diploma or equivalent, plus at least 48 semester or 60 quarter college units, or must pass the NCLB test. A criminal background check via Live Scan and a clear TB test are required. Reliable transportation is required; driving is not a regular duty, but employees who drive for work must have a valid driver’s license and current auto insurance on file with HR. The role requires weekday availability for the entire shift schedule and willingness to travel to other sites to cover staff callouts.
