About The Position

Christian Brothers Automotive is seeking an energetic, upbeat automotive technician with a positive attitude and a strong passion for finding solutions and doing what is right for guests. The technician diagnoses and repairs vehicles, works across a wide range of domestic and foreign makes and models, and collaborates with the service department and other technicians to resolve concerns and deliver quality results.

The position is at a locally owned and operated Christian Brothers Automotive location in O'Fallon, Illinois. The shop is air conditioned and offers manufacturer-level diagnostic equipment, factory scan tools, ongoing training, live technical support, and access to the Technician Assistance Center. The position is compensated at $40–$50 per hour, with the posting advertising up to $50 per hour for the most skilled technicians.

Requirements

• Have a positive attitude and a desire to serve guests.
• Have 5–7+ years of experience as an automotive technician or mechanic.
• Be capable of diagnosing and repairing all makes and models of vehicles.
• Have an aptitude for learning additional skills and processes.
• Maintain a professional appearance and communicate effectively.
• Have a desire for long-term career development.
• Occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
• Be able to work with tools on vehicles lifted above the technician's head.
• Be able to work in tight spaces as required by vehicle repairs.
• Have the dexterity to use hand tools efficiently.
• Walk and stand for most of the workday.
• Drive manual-transmission vehicles.
• Navigate a computer efficiently.

Nice To Haves

• ASE certifications are preferred, or a plan to achieve them.

Responsibilities

• Use automotive knowledge and skills to diagnose and repair vehicles for guests.
• Build experience as an automotive mechanic across a wide range of domestic and foreign vehicles.
• Complete full, accurate, and honest courtesy vehicle inspections.
• Work with the team to troubleshoot guest concerns quickly and effectively.
• Follow and promote high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization.
• Work closely with the service department and communicate concerns effectively.
• Collaborate with other technicians to solve problems, meet deadlines, and deliver exceptional results.
• Meet or exceed hourly goals.
