Advanced Diagnostic Automotive Technician | Up to $50/Hr & Air Conditioned Shop | Edwardsville
About The Position
Christian Brothers Automotive is seeking an energetic, upbeat automotive technician with a positive attitude and a strong commitment to finding solutions and doing what is right for guests. The technician will diagnose and repair vehicles, build experience across a wide range of domestic and foreign vehicles, and contribute to a team that delivers accurate, timely, and high-quality service. The Edwardsville shop is fully air conditioned and equipped with manufacturer-level diagnostic equipment and the latest factory scan tools. Technicians also have access to free training, full-time live technical support, and a private Technician Assistance Center. This opportunity is at a locally owned and operated franchise location; the local franchisee is the employer and is responsible for employment decisions.
Requirements
- 5–7+ years of experience as an automotive technician or mechanic.
- Positive attitude and desire to serve guests.
- Ability to diagnose and repair all makes and models of vehicles.
- Aptitude for learning additional skills and processes.
- Professional appearance and strong communication skills.
- Desire for long-term career development.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move over 100 pounds.
- Ability to work with tools on vehicles lifted above the technician’s head and in tight spaces as required by repairs.
- Dexterity to use hand tools efficiently.
- Ability to walk or stand for most of the workday.
- Ability to drive manual-transmission vehicles.
- Ability to navigate a computer efficiently.
Nice To Haves
- ASE certifications are preferred, or a plan to achieve them.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair vehicles using automotive knowledge and skills.
- Build experience working on a wide range of domestic and foreign vehicles.
- Complete full, accurate, and honest courtesy vehicle inspections.
- Work with the team to troubleshoot guest concerns quickly and effectively.
- Follow and promote high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization.
- Work closely with the service department and communicate concerns effectively.
- Collaborate with other technicians to solve problems, meet deadlines, and deliver distinguished results.
- Meet or exceed hourly goals.
