About The Position

Christian Brothers Automotive is seeking an energetic, upbeat automotive technician with a positive attitude and a strong commitment to finding solutions and doing what is right for guests. The technician will diagnose and repair vehicles, build experience across a wide range of domestic and foreign vehicles, and work with the service department and other technicians to resolve concerns and deliver results. The Edwardsville shop is locally owned and operated, offers an air-conditioned work environment, and is closed on weekends.

Requirements

Positive attitude and a desire to serve guests.
5–7+ years of experience as an automotive technician or mechanic.
Ability to diagnose and repair all makes and models of vehicles.
Aptitude for learning additional skills and processes.
Professional appearance and strong communication skills.
Desire for long-term career development.
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move over 100 pounds.
Ability to work with tools on vehicles lifted above the technician’s head and in tight spaces as required by repairs.
Dexterity to use hand tools efficiently.
Ability to walk and stand for most of the workday.
Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
Ability to navigate a computer efficiently.

Nice To Haves

ASE certifications are preferred, or a plan to achieve them.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair vehicles for guests.
Build experience as an automotive mechanic across a wide range of domestic and foreign vehicles.
Complete full, accurate, and honest courtesy vehicle inspections.
Work as part of a team to troubleshoot guest concerns quickly and effectively.
Follow and promote high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization.
Work closely with the service department and communicate concerns effectively.
Collaborate with other technicians to solve problems, meet deadlines, and deliver distinguished results.
Meet or exceed hourly goals.
