About The Position

This position is for an Adjunct Instructor in the English Department, specifically to teach ENGL 293: American Literary History as an Independent Study course at the university level. The role involves providing feedback, grading, fostering an inclusive online environment, and utilizing technology for instruction. The instructor will be expected to relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment. Applicants are required to submit a Mission Alignment Statement, and all new employees must abide by the university's Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards. Preference is given to qualified candidates who are members in good standing of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Requirements

  • PhD in English, Literature, American Studies or related field (degree must be completed by the start date).
  • College-level literature course instruction.
  • Minimum two semesters teaching experience.
  • Proficiency in using technology and learning management systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of employment.
  • Must submit a Mission Alignment Statement.
  • Must abide by the university's Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards.
  • Successful candidates are expected to support and contribute to the academic and religious missions of the university within the context of the principles and doctrines of the affiliated church.
