About The Position

This position involves instructing students in modern dance within the Dance Department. Responsibilities include teaching contemporary modern dance techniques, potentially at various levels from beginning to advanced, and/or courses focused on the creative process. The role requires maintaining office hours proportional to the teaching load, attending faculty meetings, and instructing multiple classes weekly. The position requires the successful candidate to relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment.

Requirements

  • BA or BFA required; MFA in Dance preferred.
  • The required degree must be completed by the start date.
  • Two years of teaching in a studio, college, or university setting is preferred.
  • Must relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of employment.
  • All new employees who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be required to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.
  • All employees are required to abide by the university's Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards.
  • Successful candidates are expected to support and contribute to the academic and religious missions of the university within the context of the principles and doctrines of the affiliated church.

Nice To Haves

  • MFA in Dance preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Instruction in contemporary modern dance, which could include beginning to advanced levels of technique, and/or creative process courses.
  • Maintain office hours commensurate with teaching load.
  • Attend faculty meetings as called.
  • Instruct multiple classes per week.
