Adjunct Teaching – Rhetoric & Composition: Writing with Style (ENGL 302)
About The Position
This position involves teaching ENGL 302: Writing with Style, a course focused on rhetoric and composition. The instructor will be responsible for delivering course content, providing timely feedback on assignments, and being available for students. Adjunct faculty may be required to attend department training and periodic course coordination meetings. They are not expected to attend department faculty meetings or participate in citizenship and research as part of their regular load, but may be invited to participate in compensated curricular and mentoring assignments. Adjunct faculty are also invited to attend optional mini-workshops.
Requirements
- MA in English, MFA in Creative Writing, or a master's degree in a comparable field (degree must be completed before the start date).
- College-level English composition or literature course instruction experience.
- Ability to teach in-person classes on the BYU Provo campus.
- Ability to share an office with up to two additional adjunct faculty.
- Ability to support and contribute to the academic and religious missions of the university within the context of the principles and doctrines of the affiliated church.
- Must relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of employment.
- Must abide by the university's Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards.
- Must hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend (if a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints).

Responsibilities
- Teach ENGL 302: Writing with Style.
- Be available for at least three office hours each week.
- Provide assignment feedback in a timely manner.
