About The Position

Provide instruction in assigned subject areas, utilizing a variety of instructional strategies appropriate to individual student needs in classroom, online, hybrid, or lab settings. This includes lectures, small groups, demonstrations, and computer-assisted instruction. Responsibilities also include evaluating student performance, maintaining accurate records of attendance, achievement, and progress, and assisting in data gathering for department assessment. The role also involves supporting and promoting an environment of belonging where all individuals feel welcomed, valued, and empowered, fostering a community that enriches the educational experience and upholds college policies related to access, fair employment, and equal opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in the bioscience field (biology, biochemistry, microbiology, etc.) or bachelor’s degree in education with secondary endorsement in science, PLUS six (6) graduate hours in a related science field and successful completion of five (5) core microcredentials from BCSI.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a bioscience-related field (biology, biochemistry, microbiology, etc) AND two (2) years of industry experience and current experience in training or supervising, PLUS five (5) core microcredentials from BCSI.
  • Two (2) years of current work experience in a Biotechnology field related to the area of assigned duties in the Biotechnology program.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction to students according to the objectives of each course assigned.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies in the classroom, online, hybrid, or lab setting that are appropriate to individual student needs and may include, but are not limited to, lectures, small groups, demonstrations, and computer-assisted instruction.
  • Prepare and administer evaluation instruments and maintain accurate student records on attendance, achievement, and progress.
  • Assist in gathering and interpreting data for department assessment.
  • Support and promote an environment of belonging where all students, faculty members, and college employees feel welcomed, valued, and empowered to contribute.
  • Foster a community where each individual and their varied perspectives enrich the educational experience and create a safe and respectful environment.
  • Support the College’s policies and programming related to access, fair employment, and equal opportunities for all.
