About The Position

Strayer University is seeking a dynamic Adjunct Faculty member to join their academics team. This role involves teaching graduate-level MKT500 classes in a hybrid format, combining in-person and asynchronous online instruction. The faculty member will serve as an instructor, coach, and mentor, aiming to foster a love of learning and support diverse learning styles. A strong faculty-student relationship and community building are emphasized. The position requires adherence to university policies, attendance at meetings and training, and utilization of academic technology and online learning platforms to enhance student learning experiences. Faculty are expected to be available to students via various communication channels and maintain high academic standards.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of academic technology.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) software and overall computer skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of academic evaluation.
  • Proficiency in oral presentation skills, planning, and organizing of course objectives.
  • Must have strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Must be able to travel weekly to required location(s).
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor.
  • Travel via plane, car, and metro may be required.
  • Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant.
  • Access information using a computer.
  • Effectively communicate, both up and down the management chain.
  • Effectively cope with stressful situations.
  • Strong mental acuity.
  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Doctorate in Marketing or any Doctorate degree with 27 doctorate quarter credit hours(18 semester credit hours) in Marketing (Social Media Marketing, Digital Marketing, etc.) OR Doctorate in a Business-related discipline w/a Master’s in marketing or any Master’s degree with 27 graduate quarter credit hours (18 semester credit hours) in Marketing.

Nice To Haves

  • Teaching experience at the college level and online teaching experience are strongly preferred.
  • 5 years of professional experience in Marketing or a related field.
  • Professional certification in discipline specialty (if applicable).

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned courses in person and asynchronously online.
  • Maintain office hours as assigned.
  • Provide quality education and maintain high standards of academic excellence.
  • Enhance the strength and effectiveness of the curriculum using technology and videos.
  • Arrive on-campus at least half an hour prior to the start time of in-person sessions.
  • Utilize the online learning platform to enrich the student learning experience.
  • Be available to students via email, phone, text, and office hours.
  • Ensure students receive quality feedback in a timely manner.
  • Establish high standards and ensure students understand how they will be evaluated.
  • Adhere to University policies and procedures.
  • Attend faculty meetings and workshops or training as required.
