About The Position

The Activities Associate assists with planning, organizing, and directing activity programs for residents and patients at St. Francis Nursing Center, a 24-hour skilled nursing facility in Colorado Springs. The role helps create a safe, stimulating, and supportive environment that promotes engagement, well-being, independence, and quality of life. Activities may include sports, dramatics, nature study, social activities, games, and arts and crafts, tailored to residents’ needs and care plans. The associate prepares reports on participants’ progress as required and completes assessments and program documentation within established timeframes.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in a patient, recreational, or activities program.
• Colorado Activity Professional Certificate.
• Certified Nurse Aide.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor daily activity programs designed to meet residents’ individual care plan needs.
• Assist with planning, organizing, and directing diverse activity programs for the facility population.
• Complete required assessments and programming documentation within established timeframes.
• Prepare reports on the assigned population’s progress as required.
• Maintain assigned department areas in a safe, clean, and organized condition.
• Assist with transportation for outings and related activity logistics.
• Manage and update monthly activity calendars.
• Order and maintain appropriate activity supplies.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain professionalism when handling property and equipment and interacting with residents and staff.
