About The Position

Concordia at SpiriTrust – Utz Terrace is seeking an energetic Activity Director to lead the activities team and create engaging experiences for residents in independent living, personal care, and skilled nursing. The role helps residents stay connected, active, and fulfilled through programs that support their social, physical, intellectual, recreational, and spiritual needs. The Activity Director plans individual and group activities, creates activity calendars, coordinates outings, and supports resident participation. The role also leads activities staff and oversees supplies, expenses, volunteers, seasonal decorating, activity records, attendance, and required MDS documentation.

Requirements

A caring, compassionate, and energetic approach.
Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
Computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Canva.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays for resident programs and special events.

Nice To Haves

An associate degree in recreational therapy or a related field.
Two years of long-term care activities experience.
Activity certification or course completion.
Experience in music, art, drama, or dance therapy.

Responsibilities

Plan individual and group activities for residents with a variety of interests and abilities.
Create weekly and monthly activity calendars.
Coordinate outings and help residents participate.
Lead activities staff through hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and recognition.
Manage supplies, expenses, volunteers, and seasonal decorating.
Maintain activity records, attendance, and required MDS documentation.
