About The Position

The Activities Director enriches residents’ social, mental, and physical lives by planning and directing high-quality programming. This courteous and friendly leader and coworker develops, implements, and evaluates activities that meet residents’ needs, encourages participation, and provides individual programming when needed. The role follows applicable procedures and state and federal regulations, supports resident safety, and promotes Priority Life Care’s mission and values.

Requirements

• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
• A clean driving record and ability to drive a large resident passenger vehicle.
• One year of full-time experience as a Life Enrichment Director or at least five years of part-time experience in Activities.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Life Enrichment/Activity Director certification.
• Previous long-term care experience.
• One to two years of experience working with individuals with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

Responsibilities

• Provide seniors with interesting, engaging, and enriching activities.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate activities programs that meet residents’ needs.
• Promote interest in and participation in recreational activities.
• Assess residents for programs and arrange one-on-one programming as needed.
• Coordinate and provide necessary transportation.
• Manage the department budget for supplies and staff.
• Enforce rules and regulations to maintain discipline and ensure safety in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Relate appropriately to residents, family members, the public, and other professionals.
• Report issues or problems to the Administrator.
• Promote and exemplify the Priority Life Care mission and values.
