About The Position

Johnstone Supply - The Heartland Group is looking to hire a full-time Accounts Receivable Specialist in Bloomington, MN to receive payments, resolve billing issues, and maintain accurate customer account records. This role involves monitoring accounts for non-payment, delayed payment, overpayment, and other irregularities. The specialist will identify past due accounts, communicate with customers to resolve questions, report issues or delinquencies to management, and process incoming mail and daily deposits. Additionally, the role includes promoting and assisting with onboarding for a third-party payment portal, reviewing new account setups, responding to credit inquiries, and maintaining electronic documentation. The position also requires answering inbound billing inquiries and preparing correspondence, ensuring accounts receivable records are accurate and up-to-date, and providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • Associates degree OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-year experience as a Bookkeeper, Accounts Receivable Clerk, or similar position.
  • Proficiency using email programs, internet browsers, and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of office equipment including computers, printer, copier, calculator, and scanner.
  • Knowledge of accounting fundamentals sufficient to perform accounts receivable duties.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills appropriate for professional communication including phone, email and video.
  • Skill in finding information using different types of resources.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a wide variety of changing tasks and situations.
  • Strict attention to detail and self-auditing.
  • Ability to provide exceptional, consistent, quality customer service.

Responsibilities
